One man’s trash is another man’s treasure. Even those broken clay planting pots can be sought after. There is a new trend in gardening to create all sorts of creative garden arrangements and fairy gardens out of broken pots.

Fairy gardens can be created either from the shards left from an accidentally broken pots, or from carefully planned cut pots. To get the exact cuts, soak a clay pot in water, use a craft drill or file to weaken the part you want to break off, then use a hammer to fully break a piece off. Lastly, fill the pot with planter’s soil and arrange the shards in the soil in a way to make the fairy look.
